Having seen automated parking ticket issuing machine in Bangalore a few years ago, I was surprised to see it in Chennai, Adyar - Gandhi Nagar, Just near Odyssey Showroom. It has a few state of the art features that I noticed. It is powered using Solar Photo Voltaic cells. Since it is yet to be functional I am not sure about the operations. But, it may accept 5 INR coins and it would be good if it accepts paper currency. I am sure that the machine will not accept Plastic currency (VISA / MASTER).
There are multiple units in the whole stretch. Not sure whether they are installing these units else-were in Chennai.
